Hey Mach-E community, we just picked up a new 2023 Mach-E AWD Premium ER about 2 weeks ago. Excited about the car, however we are having an issue with a clicking/thunking noise under braking and acceleration (almost always at ~25km/h), the noise seems to be louder when using 1 pedal driving.

I've put together some clips of how it sounds:

We brought it into our dealer a week ago, who acknowledged the issue but hadn't seen it before they checked the breaks/suspension and didn't see any issues. They are still waiting to hear back from Ford technical support on the issue to try and diagnose what the problem could be.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Also I've seen folks escalate things to Ford Corporate before, if needed, how would I do that?

I have something similar to this. I have a 2021 GT PE and it has done it since new. It sounds like it is coming from the post on the drivers side where the seat belt is located or under the drivers seat. It sounds like something that is not secured and sliding or swinging forward or backward with acceleration or braking. I mentioned it to the service department yesterday but he said i would need to leave it to be tested and I didn’t have time. I will take it again later.

What ended up being the issue? I think my 2021 has developed this problem.

I haven't had the issue nearly as much now that it's winter up here in Toronto. I'm going to see if it comes back in the spring and make the call on getting them to replace the drive axle or not. My friend who installed my winter tires on a hoist thought it might be from the play in the front motor mounts under acceleration/breaking, which would make sense that there is less play in the vibration mounts when it's cold out.

Nope, it didn't come back, it's kind of a weird issue.

Replacing both side half shafts fixed this for me. They said the clicking was something not tightened enough. After my 2nd rear side was replaced it has not come back.

I have a similar sound except i hear it more from the drivers side rear - sounds like it comes from the rear brake. I've taken it in to my local dealer and they told me "thats normal'.

I have a hard time believing its normal given a) it only started 2 months ago and b) our other mach-e does not make that noise, but not sure how to get them motivated to try to fix it

I'm experiencing the same noise on 2023 Mach-E Premium AWD, and for me, it's been consistent regardless of the season, even in winter.

This makes me question the idea of it being a mount issue. If it were, wouldn't I hear the noise when accelerating at any speed? Why does the noise completely disappear when I'm accelerating above, say, 25 mph?

The noise only seems to occur when I'm accelerating from a complete stop or nearly stop (<5 mph) or a very slow speed, specifically within that 5 to 20 mph range. Once I'm already in motion and going faster than that, no matter how hard I press the gas pedal, the noise is completely gone.

I am going to dealer will find out what's the issue.

I’m finding that i have the same sound coming from the rear passenger side at low speeds under acceleration and 1pedal braking. Were there any TSBs for this that i can reference when i take it in to the dealer?
