2024 Ford Mach E Premium RWD Extended Range
Recently purchased my 2024 Mach E Premium RWD Extended Range last week. This is my first EV. Utilizing Blink charger available at my work and getting a charging error every time the vehicle stops charging at the 90% preset, and I stop the charging session in the blink app. I notice when I go to the charger it says "finishing" after I stop the charging session. Once charger finishes the "finishing" cycle, I am able to remove the charger. Any recommendations on how to not get the charging error.

Yes, I read the manual and couldn't find the answer :)

Level 2? DC fast charger?

If level 2, you're getting an error in the vehicle because it's trying to charge to a certain level, and you ended the charging via the Blink app, "cutting off" the juice. If instead you simply unplugged, then you would get no error.

Level 2. The vehicle has reached its full 90% setting and has ended charging when this happens. After the ford app notifies me charge is complete, the blink charging app still shows that it is charging, until I end the charging session. At that point is when the error is received. Ill attempt to disconnect on next charge cycle before messing with the blink app.

Sounds like Blink isn’t properly handling the termination of the charging session if the car stops the session. Almost as if Blink cannot tell the difference between an actual fault and stopping the charge on purpose. I’ve found Blink chargers are garbage and avoid them.

Unfortunately its all I have at this time while I wait for Ford to install the free Level 2 I received with my purchase last week. The Level 1 has no chance of keeping up with my 60 mile daily commute.

As long as you're getting the desired charge level at the end of the session I wouldn't worry about it, especially on an L2.

If you press the handle button before removing the connection that will retract the proximity sensor pin the in connector and sever all communication between the vehicle and charge station.

? what they said ?

I bought my car before my charger and also had all kinds of weird experiences on public L2. Importantly, like you, I always got the charge I wanted so I just kind of shrugged it off. It helps to say something like, “oh, Blinky,” like an 80s sitcom parent talking to a rascal.

I purchased the Fisker 40a charger, Wallbox, last year. Whenever the car pauses charging the car throws a charging error. Charging resumes as normal when the car requests juice. I blame Ford but the charging always finishes charging so not complaining.
