I go to a touchless wash once or twice a month, it's perfectly fine. Just try and find a place that has good reviews and drys the car enough.
The only thing I would avoid is any wash that has side blasting water jets when you drive in. Sometimes they call them an "undercarriage wash". The badges on the side of the car are fragile, particularly the X badge. The wash I go to offers 3 different levels of wash, the base does not run the side jets so that's what I go with.

I use one regularly in the winter ( NW Indiana). Only problem I have experienced is it usually pops open the frunk release port in the front bumper. Many will tell you not to use one because of micro scratches but I haven’t seen any issues and even if I did, micro scratches are better than rust.
Duct tape before you enter ??

Retired. I'd say it was a mid life crisis, but not many people live to 140.

Automatic, touchless car wash is the only wash for me.

Never had a problem, car looks fine except for that tiny bit of the rear window between the wiper sweep and the roof spoiler. Only thing I have to do myself.

Taping the charge door is not something that I've ever had to do.

Hey folks, brand new owner here. I did some reading and saw that you can run these through a touch less wash. Just getting your feedback on it.

Hand washing all the time is not an option. I’m older and broken lol and just can’t do it. Add to that the fact that I live on a gravel road that makes every vehicle covered in dust by day 2 and it means I have to do something routinely.

Just making sure I’m good with the touch less wash. Thanks for your time and all the best!
I bought all the stuff to handwash and then found out how much work it really is. I use a touch less wash most of the time and have occasionally used a soft touch after a road trip with a lot of bugs on the front of the vehicle. My vehicle still looks fine.

I have a ceramic coating and only use touchless auto wash. Looks great every time, take your time going thru the dryer. Also if hand washing make sure the guys know not to use a rough towels around the sharp edges of the decals at the bottom of each door.

I run mine thru a touch less wash about once a week (company pays for it), and haven't had an issue. I don't want the brushes as I tend to keep my vehicles for 10+ years. The one I usually use is not the type that pull the car thru, rather it is the type where you drive in and the machinery moves around you.

Similar to many others here.... I wash my car a minimum of once a week and sometimes more depending on where I travel. I have ceramic coating and while I do have a spotless wash/dry system at home, I do go to the touchless car wash in town at least twice a month if not more. The touchless does a great job and after I hand dry the door, frunk and tailgate jams and wheels.

Touchless = high powered jet sprays. They can end up pushing dirt and hard particles deeper into crevices or worse scratch up paint. Do they still have those jet nozzles from the floor? Let's attack the battery underbelly with high pressure water. Yeehaw!!! <shiver>

Even a general garden hose spray over is better if you do not have the strength or stamina to perform a full wash.

This may be true however after 3 years of touchless washes at least twice a month, my ceramic coated paint is in perfect condition. I just had it to the detailer two months ago to have them check it over and he didn't do anything to it. Said the finish on it was 99% the way it was the day he did it. I don't touch the paint on my cars. If I go through the touchless wash, it has a blow dryer. If I wash at home, I have a spot-free deionizer water system and can let it dry on it's own with no spots whatsoever. I also have car dryer/blower but only use it to get rid of the water that is trapped around the rear window, under trim, etc. I can understand if the car was super dirty then there might be an issue with high pressure water but as soon as my car get's dusty, I wash it.

I talked to a guy a while back that serviced those types of car washes, he said that touchless car washes use a more aggressive soap i.e. harsher chemicals, in order for the soap alone to be able to clean the car.
The brush car washes have a milder soap.

I use a touchless wash on my MachE every week at least, also on my IONIQ5 and on my model Y when we had it. Totally safe. I touchlessed my Model Y for 2 years and got lazy and took it through a normal car wash, the micro scratches bothered me the rest of the time I owned it so I just stick with the touchless. I haven't hand washed any of my cars personally.
