Well I’m in need of new tires soon for my Mach E GT 2023, was happy with the original tires the Continental Cross Contact 245/45-R20, bit disappointed that I only got about 28k miles on them. Not a wild driver here, but do drive in curvy mountain roads.

thinking of switching to either
Michelin Pilot Sport AS
Pirelli PZero

Any advice on either or others you would recommend. I would like good handling/ range, my wife likes confort/ low noise..

I live in Georgia so, snow isn’t an issue for driving for most of year.

Thanks for any feedback

I live in Georgia and have 23 GT as well lol.
I am at 16k miles and still have plenty of thread left... anyways I plan to get Electric Drive 2 when my Continentals go bold, because I want more comfort and thread.

Now it's up to you what you want, performance or comfort. Here is a good link with a video of TireRack testing different EV tires https://tinyurl.com/4ak3v7mb

The Mach E GTPE comes with Pzero electric summer tires. They will not last long and they cannot go below 45°F. I got a bit over 20K out of mine, but some report only 4K miles- YMMV.

I put on Pzero All seasons and they are fantastic for reasonable spirited driving and they seem to be wearing very well. Quiet and good grip for "normal" driving - IMHO.

Got 13,000 out of the summer PZero's (and before anybody asks, without burn outs). Seemed like not an unusual wear from postings at the time. Expect if you mean the all-season then better/longer wear likely.

I have a 23 GTPE. Recently replaced the original summer tires with Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. They are not as sticky - but very quiet, comfortable, and handle well. They spin more at launch (if you floor it) than the summer tires - but I do not drive that way. Tried it for comparison purposes. ;-)

I replaced original tires at 12K miles because there were horizonal cracks between the tread lines. This was not covered by Ford or Pirelli. Most opinions were that it was not a danger. I decided not to roll the dice.

I have had the new tires for 4000 miles and very happy with them.

How often did you rotate them?

How often are you supposed to rotate the tires? Anything different from gas vehicle tires?

The manual says to rotate every 10,000 miles. When I had my 2021 GT-PE I rotated the Summer UHPs every 3,000-3,500 miles because I sometimes drive hard. I have 275s on 9.5" wheels now (Continental DWS 06+ tires) and plan on rotating every 5K-7K for the same reason. 🤔🐩

EDIT: The tires are All-Season UHP tires. 😁🐩

I also recently switched to a set of Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3's on my 2025 GT. I only have about 500 miles on them but so far I really like them. They're definitely quieter and smoother than than the OEM Continentals.

The OEM continentals, that’s what I have on my MachE premium. How many miles did they roll?

Only a couple of hundred miles because I just took delivery of my GT in July. I was keen to switch to quieter tires and the Pirelli's are highly recommended in this forum. So the (practically new) Continentals are sitting in my garage at the moment. My car is on a 36-month lease so I will put the Continentals back on when it's time to turn the car in.

You are driving heavy vehicle so very often tires don’t survive as stated in warranty. I would recommend to get tires with stated warranty and reputable shop, also include lifetime alignment if it’s available. I met numerous number of EV owners and many of them confirmed that warranty can be useful in many cases.
CC2 right now is popular choice, I personally had to replace OEM sets on both my MMEs around 30k miles. I installed Hankook ion evo and they keep very good compare to OEMs. They lasted 50k miles on my CR1 and still on my GT after 30k miles. Right now, I installed Turanza prestige on CR1 any like them.

I’m not racing my cars, but I do drive them :) no hyper mileage style for me.

I’m avoiding Conti after multiple negative experiences when I drove other cars.

+1 for tire warranty !

Always get the "lifetime certificates" for my tires in the event of a tire failure and needing replacement.

Bought a set of Run Flat tires (RFT) because I don't like getting stranded on the side of a road or highway.

Peace of mind being able to drive 50 miles on zero pressure and it's replaced by America's Tire because the sidewalls will probably be bad driving the no pressure.
