Sure, I get all that, the BS is that this is even a thing. OEM's love to push the max range in bold headlines, but then they recommend something entirely different for every day use... THAT is the BS. But I couldn't care less, I'm on a 3 year lease....😂
Doesn't really change the range, though, does it? If you want to fill all the way up to 100% for a road trip and get pretty darn close to the range, you can, and it won't hurt anything. Except for a very small percentage of people, you won't need the entire range at one time in one day, except for those road trips, so only charging regularly to 80% affects barely anyone. Most car companies recommend you don't drive your car under the normal E on an ICE engine, even though they give a buffer of around 30-50 miles of driving on empty, but no one has ever batted an eye at that before., nor for the EPA estimated gas mileage is never what is published. Now, if they published that it has a range of 270, and they actively prevent you from ever even approaching that charging to 100%, then I would say that's BS, but that's not what's happening.

Batteries are the most expensive part of the car and companies are forced to warranty them for 8yrs 100k, so they will tell you everything they can to try to keep them perfect so they dont have to pay out on warranty claims. You do you!

Personally we are keeping our mach-e for the long-run, so it charges to 90% then I dont hesitate to go to 100% whenever I think I may need it.
