I seem to be very good at starting conversations that go off the rails easily

Those storms the last two days have been pretty fun, though, right?

Anyhow, has anyone tried ordering the OEM splash guards from the Ford accessory site? I ordered the front and back ones along with the floor mats, and everything came in except the back guards, which have been in "In Processing" for a week now, even though it says on the parts page for it they'll ship in 3 days and are in stock. Does this just mean that their inventory system isn't up to date for it?

Maybe if you are retired! My MME is over 4 years old, I still drop the hammer multiple times every time I drive the car. Its why I am sticking with an AWD Select vs a GT! Too easy to get into trouble! And I am mid-40s!
love it-----------just dropped the hammer yesterday. . . had you to take on a model Y @ the light!

Afternoon, all!
Just recently took the plunge! Had a 2024 F-150 Tremor that I got back in December of 2024 that I absolutely loved, but after a few weeks of nearly 5.00+ a gallon for gas, and having a 60 mile round trip commute, I just couldn't justify the payments and the gas costs. Anyhow, a little over a week ago I traded it in for a 2026 Mach-E GT (race red)! Have 400 miles on it so far, and absolutely love it! Got the panoramic window on it, and really like the wheels on it! Just got the floor mats from Ford for it (like literally an hour ago LOL) and while I have the front OEM splash guards, waiting for Ford to ship the back ones. Thinking about getting black lug nuts, and maybe even doing pinstripes at some point. Definitely liking that the cost of driving to work has gone from over 20 dollars a day down to under 3! Will be putting in a level 2 charger in the near future, as now that I have this, my wife wants to trade in her Honda Passport for one!

Anyhow, for those who've had one for a while, how do you know if how you're taking off at lights is adversely affecting tire life? I know that's one of the biggest surprises (from what I've heard) coming from an ICE, and I want to maximize tire life but still enjoy driving it. Is there some way using the battery usage meter to gauge it or is it just something you get a feel for and have to find out when you wear the tires out the first time around?

I've had my Mach e for 5 weeks now and it remains a thrill to drive. Best of all is getting a Level 2 charger to take advantage of the low cost for refueling especially these days, with the price of gasoline having gone through the roof. At 3.9 /kwh Canadian, I feel like I virtually drive for free these days.

I was trying to break the record in tire wear, but to my shock my max perf summer tires are still in a good shape after ~3,000 miles. I guess I need to keep flooring it and see what happens.

Yeah, I've driven 500 miles now, and the cost for charging is so minuscule in comparison! Wife and I got solar panels when we bought our house back in 2022, as what we save having them more than pays for them (we get full sun day long on the back of the house since we don't have any trees in the back yard close to the house), and that takes our effective price down to somewhere around 3 US cents /kWh, or thereabouts. Just had a fellow parent picking their kid up from school yesterday tell me that they'd rather pay for the gas in their Dodge Charger right now than go electric when he saw I drove in with the Mach E. Something about "they can't shut mine off". No idea what that was supposed to mean 🤷‍♂️ If he meant Ford, why would Ford "shut it off"?Only other thing I think he could mean is if he was being pulled over by the cops they can shut the Mach E down, but who in their right mind runs from the cops nowadays? I have avoided being arrested my whole life, and haven't had a speeding ticket (knock on wood) in 26 years, and have no desire to start doing either of those now.

Corners. Hit them hard. Go into them like you want to keep going straight, brake hard and late, come out of them like you’re trying to destroy the outer guard rail. You will wear the tires much faster. Or just go to a couple of auto crosses and you will do the same thing in a weekend. 🤪🐩

If you get the GT you won't need to drop the hammer to have fun, but it's sure fun when you do. I typically use 1/3 to 1/2 the power bar in my regular driving and it's enjoyable, and even that leaves traffic pretty far back, push it around 2/3 when I'm feeling uppity. It's fun to let the pony run all out though, and that'll still happen some.

About a month ago I absent mindedly kept pace with a sport bike off the light. I wasn't all the way in, maybe 3/4, but noticed I was coming up on 70 so backed off real quick and let him fly. All in I would have been passing him. I'm curious how deep he was on his throttle, as quick as these Mustangs are I'd expect him to run away from me. So I'm left to ponder if his rocket was actually that slow, or if he was just using his 2/3...

My experience was different than yours. Let’s leave it there.
Rick is right though. It would have the same outcome if you drive in 2 pedal mode. You still get regen braking in 2 pedal mode. The only difference is you have to use the brake pedal instead of lifting off the accelerator to brake. We just want to let you know it's not 1 pedal mode that's saving your tires and pads.

You know who "they" are, it's the other side. They are responsible for all the bad stuff and them are responsible for the good stuff. They run everything and them fight against it. It's really quite simple.
