Mach E Select (Route 1 on Order)

There's probably answers to all of these questions somewhere in the forums already, but I had trouble finding the answers. I've had our Mach E select for about 6 weeks, and mostly love it so far. (I mean we did order a Route 1 edition to go with it). But a couple of things are weird.
  • The lighting in the car is always blue, do Selects not have the customizable ambient lighting?
  • The safety features seem overly sensitive. Had to turn off the back up braking assist because we couldn't get out of our driveway (which isn't that steep) without setting it off. The crash avoidance system also would yell at us when cars were in front of way farther than warranted.
  • Also seems to be some lag occasionally when switching from back up cam to main screen
  • Seems that phone as a keys don't work all that great when there are two working phone as keys are around the car at the same time.

Going to take it into the dealer next week to see what can be done, but interested to see if anyone else has had these issues? Thanks!

Re the back-up braking assist, I have the same issue with our driveway and I've read reports here of several others with it. I'm sure it's a balancing act for Ford between making it too sensitive and not sensitive enough. (There was a post a couple of weeks ago by someone complaining it wasn't sensitive enough to avoid backing into someone.)

I thought about turning my assist off, but I've found that when I get to the street level I just slow down to a point where I'm barely moving (<1 mph, I figure) and then I can finesse it out of the driveway without the auto braking. I'm not always 100% successful, but I'm getting better and this way I don't have to turn off the rear brake assist.

  • Not sure.

  • This is adjustable in Settings.
  • [*]Also seems to be some lag occasionally when switching from back up cam to main screen
  • Check that the reverse camera delay is not turned on in Settings.
  • [*]Seems that phone as a keys don't work all that great when there are two working phone as keys are around the car at the same time.
  • PaaK has some quirks.

Per the manual:
OVERRIDING REVERSE BRAKING ASSIST
There could be instances when unexpected or unwanted braking occurs. Firmly pressing the accelerator pedal or switching the feature off overrides the system.

I’m not sure what firmly means in this context. Floor it? Haha

In my case, I slowly come to an (almost) stop and then press the pedal a bit more to push through. Although I'm sure flooring it would also work.

just pause and push accel again if you get that out of the garage. I think it has to do with sharp edged shadows. It happens more often when sun directly overhead. Has never happened at night.

Only the premium trim has the ambient lighting as far as I know. I don't even think its an option you can add to lower trims.

I think Select lighting is not adjustable.

PaaK, I just don't.

Comparison table on ford site shows multi-color ambient lighting is standard for Premium and GT trims, not available for Select and California Route 1.
