Hello folks. I recently agreed to purchase a used 2021 Mach-E Select, and the charging cable (I am told) is missing. I have a 14-50 outlet at my house. Can someone recommend a decent replacement cable? Thanks in advance.

For how much they charge just for a charging cable alone... my opinion would be to not get it and go for an actual EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment); seems to be cost prohibitive to purchase the cable and not an EVSE. I have a Juice Box at a couple locations and i love their app/capabilities. Plus you'll be able to charge faster, have more control, etc.. Lots of folks on here also have the Grizzle which i've heard nothing but good reviews too.

Around here ive heard good things about Grizzl-e most consistantly. Theyre a pretty low cost compared to what others can cost, but keep in mind it is meant to stay plugged in as opposed to being a travel charger.

My charging area is outside of my garage, in a fairly open area. I would need a way to secure it from theft. Has anyone used the optional Outdoor Safety Lock?

The Grizzl-E are wall mounted with mounting hardware so for someone to steal it they would have to take it off the wall. The included Ford cable wouldve been way easier to steal.

A good thing to keep in mind if youre charging outside is that Grizzl-E sells some models that are made to be exposed to the elements safely if you live in a not-always-friendly climate.

I went with the Juicebox due to incentives from my power company. It has a basic lock to secure it to the mount. it would be fairly easy to also secure it with a chain and padlock.

Purchased a high-quality cable don't skimp on this make sure that you buy a quality charging cable they're usually in the five to $600 range, charger and cable

Another vote for the Grizzl-e
it has very long and very beefy charging cable
and a short plug that goes directly into your NEMA 14-50 outlet

I like the "dumb" model which has No Features. Let the car decide what charge level and what time of day to charge etc
They also make a more expensive "smart" model which has web interface and ability to set Charging times etc. a total waste since the Mach-E can do all of that for you

"You are told"?

Open rear hatch. Lift out floor. Charger should be in a case sitting there, if you have it.

I went with a JuiceBox. My electric company had a $500 rebate and that made it the least expensive from the list of reputable ones.
It has a built-in lock to secure it to the mounting plate.

There are several models and most are good. There are YouTube reviews for most of them. I would check to see if there are any rebates from your local utility for a specific brand. You can get smart EVSE’s and less smart ones. My next one will be a dumber unit as I have found that I do all of my programming in the car so what spend the extra couple hundred dollars.

You shouldn't plan to constantly plug and unplug from the 14-50 or it's going to wear out and melt. They aren't designed for that unless they installed a premium receptacle, and even then it's not a guarantee. So, yes, I'd get a "standard" Level 2 charger and physically mount it. If you insist on a portable charger then get something like https://www.amazon.com/Lectron-240V-32-Level-Charger-Charging/dp/B07HKLCXPJ/

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went with the Grizzl-e for overnight charging at my house. But I’d also like to have a portable cable to keep in the car for on-the-road charging. Any suggestions?

I’m thinking of buy a Brand T portable charger because it has so many options for input. That would allow me to junk the FMC that I currently have. ?‍♂?
