The EV6 is considerably more efficient IMO. In Eco mode where the front motor disconnects physically, I got 4.3 mi/kwh on a 12 mile drive to my friends house mostly highway at 65-70 mph.

I can get 4.7mi/kw over 193mi in my MachE....going downhill from our lake house. EV6 looks like it has decent efficiency (looks like out of spec got low 3's in their 70mph test) but you need a 2 way test over a longer distance to get a statistically significant relevant result.

The FWD is. The AWD is 4.8s

I suspect the real world range at 70mph with the 87 kWh pack with AWD will be 300+ miles (maybe 320+) easily...so best in Crossover EV class.

https://insideevs.com/reviews/443791/ev-range-test-results/
It will only be best in range in the crossover class for range in the FWD variant, and the quoted spec on the is 7 sec 0-60, as real-world tested it was 7.8. I feel like it's likely 0.8 off 0-60 stated spec for the AWD, which is almost 59k MSRP. So 5.6 0-60 likely. It's a dog for the price point.

I also don't like Nissans, have been in quite a few of them, always felt like they were cheap econoboxes.

I did two ways. 4.3 to their house, 3.7 back. The main difference was the time frame...there was less traffic coming back so I was maintaining 70 the whole way instead of slowing down for traffic on the way there.

It's a significantly more efficient vehicle and impresses me.

I drove it about 130 miles home from the dealership I purchased from and on that trip at 70mph, I averaged 3.7.

Everything is a compromise. Sorta like my buddy in HighSchool driving the mini van. We could pile in everyone and get to we were all going for hardly any cost. One day we were all going down the road and I was riding shotgun I looked over and said, "Not to shabby, six people in this thing. " He looks back at me and just says, "Ya , but it is a freaking mini van, drives like a bus. Not really a chick magnet"

Them rookie numbers.

I tracked my Orlando-Daytona (50 miles each way) efficiency numbers and the best so far is my 2022 Model 3 RWD (sold for Telly). I drove 80mph like a nutball and got 4.2 mi/kWh. Generally 4.6 mi/kWh for mixed driving.
  • Model Y would be 3.6.
  • Mach-E RWD would 3.2 or less (have not driven my new AWD ER on the same trip).
  • MINI SE is averaging 3.8-4.0 no matter city or highway. The efficiency is a little disappointing but not the go kart fun factor.
  • RAV4 Prime and ID.4 RWD were both 3.0-3.2 range. I never could escape that efficiency range for those two. I drove 80% highway and 20% local.

$59K minus $7500 tax credit isn't too bad.

It's competing versus Genesis GV60, Cadillac Lyriq, Q4 e-tron, AWD ID.4, Ioniq 5 Limited AWD, etc. None of those have fancy interiors except maybe the Lyriq and that without the tax credit is the most expensive by far. The GV60 is great but it has a smaller battery (10kWh less) and efficiency is middling (none of the e-GMP efficiency numbers on the highway are great but the regen is one of the best and thus city/downhill driving it regenerates the most energy back - look at the diff between city and highway MPGe).

In terms of styling... I like the GV60 and Lyriq the best. Not a fan of weird semi-futuristic Ariya.

I have an Ariya test drive scheduled on July 30th so we will see if the driving experience is better or on par with the other EVs.

Dogs in the EV world maybe. Ever drive a Mitsubishi Outlander? For the average family looking for a grocery getter the Ariya is quick enough. I found the FWD that I drove to be passable.

Ok, but those are RWD...The EV6 is AWD and capable of those efficiency numbers. That's where it's impressive.

Isn't the GV60's interior significantly better than the I5 and EV6?

I mean it is positioned as a premium SUV/CUV

Yes but I've heard conflicting reviews about the interior quality from review. Same with the audio system quality - supposedly better the Ioniq 5 and EV6 but some disagree and say it's about the same.

I prefer the base trim of the Ariya ($47K) over top ID.4 trim ($52K Pro S Gradient) which still felt like a budget car in my test drive last week. Whatever seat material they use - I love it.

This is a serious contender for car of the year. The top trim is loaded like the Mach-E with hands free self driving, 360 camera, self parking and extra features like a digital rear view mirror + HUD

The suspension is great (not as bouncy like the MME and firm like a Model Y) and interior is quiet which I measured using my dB app while the Nissan rep was showing me ProPilot 2.0 on the road. He was driving 100+ mph on the toll road :)

I was only allowed to drive on the closed obstacle course. It handled great.
