Lately, I've been having a lot of trouble with multi-day waits at central NJ Ford dealers to get recalls or updates handled.
I dropped my car off at the dealer last Wednesday for the HVBJB recall. I'd been told when I made the appointment that it should be an overnight job. Instead, the front desk told me it would probably be more like a week because they only have 2 EV techs to go around (and it's a massive dealer). I tried another dealer in the past and a simple software update recall never got done because the car just sat in the dealer parking lot for 24 hours. I eventually just came back and picked up the car, instead of waiting forever.
Dealer service is my biggest problem since switching from VW to Ford when I bought the Mach-E. With VW, I was used to 10k services or recalls taking an hour or two; with a Ford EV, it's a struggle to get anything done the same day.
Based on that comment about only having two EV techs at a dealer, are there any dealers in the area that have good EV tech capacity?
