The only downside I see would be if you need to be towed but its a one screw attachment.

it has been on the car since late March. No issues. I followed his installation instructions to the tee including allowing 3 days cure time in temperatures <50 or 55 degrees (whichever it is) before mounting the plate.
I think my bracket is the style used until just before he introduced a revised version for MME which has the effect of raising the plate.
I raised my plate by drilling additional holes in my license plate to raise the plate about an inch out of an abundance of caution to minimize any chance of radar interference.
I had not experienced any interference but decided to be extra cautious. The bracket mount is still obscured by the plate unless you’re crawling on hands and knees under the bumper cover.
