I seldom take a trip that will require charging in route. I’m going on a trip next month and opened the FordPass app to plan the trip but couldn’t find the trip planner? A video on the Ford website shows a Map button on the lower right of the main FordPass screen and you’re supposed to be able to plan a trip from there. My FordPass app only has three buttons on the bottom, Vehicle, Energy, & Service. I scrolled thru the various sections and can’t find a map with trip planning? What am I missing? Thanks -2023 Premium extended AWD

I believe the little Ford Pass app *used to* have a Trip Planner. Then the Ford Pass app was rebuilt from the ground up as a new app and did not have it anymore. It was nice and we hope some day it comes back.

For trip planning, here's what I use:

1. ABRP app and website is great to plan well in advance and decide where you will stop and charge (ABRP = a better route planner).
2. Plugshare app and website is great to then learn how healthy/functional those charging stations you chose are doing in the last few weeks (as well as day of travel).
3. I like being the one who chooses and knows our route plan and I just use the Ford built in Navigation software making the destination the next charger as we travel. If you pick the next charger as the destination via the charger menu in Ford Nav, it will also precondition (warm) the battery in cool or cold weather as you get near the charging station.

I would add that once you find the charging stations on your route with ABRP and verify them with PlugShare, you can add them as favorites in Ford Nav for quick and easily selection while driving (and for preconditioning)

"Decontenting"? That's a George Bush word, right?
I'm not content, so am I uncontent?

I don't L3 charge much but when I do, I found Tesla to be problem free, faster and more abundant in my part of the country. I like their app too but it doesn't have route planning.

Phone Ford and complain. Planning trips in FordPass and then sending the trips to the car (so they could be executed without using a phone) was a fantastic feature, and one of the reasons I bought the car.
