I have a 2021 EXT AWD Premium and the title pretty much says it. I was concerned about this, and also was having an issue with it connecting to WiFi so I took it in for a check. They were able to get the WiFi connected and told me there were updates “pending” but nothing that “should” have been installed and there wasn’t a problem with the update process for the vehicle. And they were not able to explain what pending meant in terms that made sense to me. They also said at this point it will only get updates with the updates for each new model year- which doesn’t make sense since there have been 2 model years since the last update, May 24th 2024.

I find it hard to believe this car could go two years without an update since the first 3-4 years it seemingly updated pretty frequently.

Message me the VIN and I can poke around to see if I see anything useful. That whole "pending" thing that Ford added to PTS is very new and Ford never sent dealers any info as to how to interpret that. Basically, pending qualification means you aren't getting anything any time soon, but if at least one update on the list shows as "qualified", it means you can get that OTA sent at some random point in time.

Nothing to worry about in your case. Your car is on a very new version of Sync (looks like 25094) and it shows the latest APIM OTA update as "qualfied" as well as an IPC update. The other two updates showing as pending you already have installed. One is for the software for BC 1.3 and the other is to enable the config for lane change assist and the other BC 1.3 features, but I see those are already enabled in your car. When they send those IPMA updates, they will most likley fail since you already have them, so don't worry about it if and when it happens. You vehicle seems to be almost fully up to date.

I am looking in PTS which is Ford's dealer website/tool.

Thanks for that helpful information. Curious as to why the vehicle and Ford Pass show that 2024 date. Seems misleading at best and completely incorrect at the worst.

Maybe a dealer installed the updates at some point. Hard to say since I cannot see vehicle history anymore. Until you get sent another OTA, that screen with the details of the last OTA you got sent are what you will see any time you check for updates. Hard to say with limited visibility, but what I can tell you is that you're not far behind and I would not be concerned about it.

Ive got a ‘21 also last update Was about a year ago. I think most of the updates are going to the new cars that have things wrong with them that the older cars dont. We got a lot at the beginning being so new and lots of changes. Not much has changed in a few years.

Did you have the dealer do the 12V/door lock software recall? If that was done at the dealer, then they likely updated other modules at the same time. Ford must have been generous with the labor rate on that one: my dealer called me pretty much the instant the software was available *and* I had another local dealer call me asking if I wanted them to do the update.

Greetings, you can check mine, which has been without an update for more than a year... 3FMTK4SXXNMA39400, thanks

The dealer said that I was up to date and didn’t need anything, so I’m assuming that if there’s recalls out there they did them at some point in the past. They did the 50k service which consisted of an inspection and cabin air filter change. My tire place does the tire rotation.

Two more payments then we’re done. We financed the max since at the time Ford was offering a 1% interest rate for a 6 year loan. Hard to believe we’ve had it for almost 6 years.
