What @Mach-Lee said.

I have the exact same unit and just unplug it when not in use. I use it in our otter cars as well though.
I've always said that residents of the Hawaiian Islands are different. Here on the mainland, otters don't drive cars. Some weird stuff they got going on. Here's otters dancing.

I am looking to get a OBD scanner for my Mach E. I'm not looking for a top of the line unit. I am just wanting to monitor my battery performance over time. Any recommendations?
I use the Bluetooth scanner Maclean MCE 200 that is inexpensive and fully compatible with CarScanner and ABRP.

Here is the one I created for charging. I guess I should increase the font size for SOC Display to match. Really easy to modify. Did it in about 15 min one day while I was charging. I did the amps as a chart because some chargers I have found slowly ramp so I wanted to see history.
Which scanner did you use to get this info?

If you want to leave an OBD plugged in all the time, then go with the OBDLink MX+ because it has a low enough standby draw (verified by me). The other brands you should unplug while parked.
Do you use the software that came with the OBDLink MX+ or some other app?

The good news is that there are a lot of BT dongles that use the ELM327 chipset and protocol, so there are a number of choices, all various clones of one another. I use a Viecar ODB2 Bluetooth 4.0 adapter, for instance.
there are a few devices that are around $100 like the Blue Driver. Does anyone have any experience with that and is there a reason these are more money?

I really liked my OBDELEVEN for my audi and it was higher cost than the ones on Amazon like everyone is referencing but i dont know if there is a benefit to buying the expensive ones

I use CarScanner and loved it so much I paid the couple bucks for the lifetime license.
It's now $7 for the forever license.

I use a Veepeak ELM327 BLM interface. Even though my other cars have no OBD (1 or 2) connection, I only plug it in when I am scanning for codes. ?‍♂?

I have two, a cheap Bluetooth one that I got off Amazon and a Carista. The cheap one is used with Car Scanner for battery and other cool peek in type things. The Carista is nice because it has the e-parking brake service mode. I just did the brakes on my wife's Audi TT, that was the reason for the purchase. It will work on the parking e-brake for the MME too so nice bonus there.
