Anyone with recent experience with an OBD2 scanner that works well on Android. Based on a 2022 discussion, I got a Vgate iCar pro and could not get it to connect (even with the helpful tips in that thread.)

This is my exact adapter, sounds like what you have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGB4873

I use this with Forscan all the time. Did you tell Forscan to "auto scan" for the adapter? Does your laptop support Bluetooth LE (low energy)?

If you want reliability and not mess with Bluetooth then I'd recommend this USB one that never fails.

That's the one. It starts to connect but never finishes. I can see it in the phone's list of Bluetooth devices but it keeps jumping between connected and saved.

I may just have to switch to wired.

OBDLink mx+ works very well on Pixel 6 and 8 pro Android.

OBDLink mx+ works very well on my Pixel 8 Pro as well. I seem to remember having to do a firmware update to get it to work the first time though. It is a little spendy compared to some options out there.
