Yesterday I got notice that my car was planning an overnight update and I happened to read this thread yesterday. So snapped a picture of the odometer when I parked it in the garage. Apparently my car updated and my mileage went up 0.4 miles without ever moving from the garage. It was plugged in the whole time. Photographs attached.
Obviously I don’t care about 1/2 a mile, but this is absolutely happening.

This is crazy. Was it an IPC update or something else? Do you mind messaging me the VIN so I can take a look?

It was the 10.2.0 software update that has been pushed out lately. My car is a 2024 Mach-E GT. I will message you. Thanks

Got your message. It just processed like any other OTA would of. No error code or indication that anything went wrong. Very strange indeed.

Thanks for checking. Were you able to see/confirm the mileage jump as indicated by benk?

Everytime your car checks in with Ford's servers, the mileage is recorded. If this is true, Ford or anyone with PTS should be able to see the jump pretty easily.

I missed that, but yea, that can be checked. However, there is not enough details to determine if the OTA affected the odometer reading. On 5/1, the vehicle reported itself to the cloud at 8:17pm with 6555 miles (no fractional mileage is recorded on what I can see). Nothing was reported to the server between 5/1 until the OTA installed at 1am on 5/7, and the next recorded mileage shows 6628 on 5/7. There is a gap of 5-6 days where you drove the car and nothing was reported to the cloud. Due to this gap and the fact there is no fractional mileage, I cannot determine if the mileage was indeed affected by the OTA or not.

Now that is something I've heard reported before, I can't remember where but I've seen someone say after an update it always rounded to xxx.5 on the odometer after an update.

Interesting. I hope other people will monitor and report here and then maybe we can start to understand what is going on.

When I was 16 my mom's car did the same on Friday and Saturday night. She fought with the dealer for months because even though she never drove the car on weekends every Monday it had 100-200 miles more on it and lost a quarter of the tank. Plus the rear tires wore out twice as fast as the front tires.
lol!!!??????

For the first 2 years after purchase I logged every trip and every OTA. This never happened in the first 2 years/25K miles with my 2022 GTPE.

I don't think that's a thing
I've seen it one other time from someone. It was a while back and I can't find where though.
I think the first editions had IPC software that stopped showing tenths (not halves) of a mile after either 1,000 or 10,000 miles. Then the software was changed to always display tenths on the odometer regardless of mileage. It was a thing people noticed after 21G01 was done.

Same for the job 1 2021 F150's. The OG IPC software did not have tenths until the IPC was updated.

Hey Javier
I got the 10.2 update on April 30th, and no, I did not take pictures of my mileage before and after.
Yesterday, I noticed that I hit 4k miles, but I vividly recall seeing it in the low 3000s very recently; yes, I could be wrong.

Can you look in whatever system to see what mileage it reports? Maybe this confirms @Mikerson 's issue.

thank you
