When I was 16 my mom's car did the same on Friday and Saturday night. She fought with the dealer for months because even though she never drove the car on weekends every Monday it had 100-200 miles more on it and lost a quarter of the tank. Plus the rear tires wore out twice as fast as the front tires.
How do you know? Do you take a picture of the odometer prior to an update? Since this would be a major problem (especially if you lease) it might be worthwhile to record video of your next software update. It'd be boring for sure, but you're going to need proof that it's happening.
I drove the car last week and noticed the odometer was at 4,500 miles I got in the car today and the odometer showed 5,500 miles, no one else drives the car, I only drive the car maybe twice a month and only around town, I've noticed the mileage jumping leaps and bounds over the past year. I don't drive more than 40 miles per trip twice a month and I've only taken one 400 mile trip in the past year, I bought the car used with 70 miles on it last year and can't believe how the mileage has jumped so much over the past year. I know this sounds weird, but the only change was the software update from last week, the software update last night didn't change the odometer reading.
Additionally, use a time stamp camera app. That way there is more evidence on your side as to when each photo was taken since metadata is so easy to fiddle with. ??
