Mystery solved: I'm a moron. ?
Prior to starting this thread I had looked at the new windshield logo from inside while driving, and thought the heated windshield icon was the IRR icon. At that time I didn't know the OEM windshield without IRR existed, so when I saw something that vaguely looked like IRR from behind, I figured that's what I was reading. I also was told by the glass shop it was a direct replacement, so obviously they screwed that up.
For future reference, per Carlex's site the OEM w/o IRR layer windshield is NAGS PN DW02697, Ford engineering PN LJ8B-R03100-BG, and Ford service PN LJ8Z-5803100-K. The OEM w/ IRR layer windshield is NAGS PN DW02698, Ford engineering PN LJ8B-R03100-FH, and Ford service PN LJ8Z-5803100-M.
So, if you care about the IRR layer make sure you figure out exactly which PN you're getting. What I ended up with is actually exactly what I wanted, but didn't realize existed. Otherwise I'd be pretty pissed if I wanted IRR and didn't get it.
