Old vs New Cooling diagrams?

I’m curious if anyone has seen before and after diagrams of the cooling system overhaul.

I wonder when (what model year) we will see these changes in. '22 or '23?

My gut says Job 2 of this year or ‘23. Or perhaps not at all. I expect some big value engineering changes for ‘23 to decrease costs and increase production rate. Premium trim might go away and will be optioned differently. Expect more features to be deleted or become an optional extra that will lengthen your build time. Things like a smaller screen or cheaper interior. Ford had no clue it would be nearly this popular and did not design the supply chain for mass production like with an Escape or F150.

Ford said a couple of months back that they were not going to wait for model year transitions anymore to improve engineering (Hi Tesla!). So I'd expect that the simplified cooling system will be arriving in cars soon, if it hasn't already (do we know that it hasn't already?).

I remember when Sandy Munro spoke with one of the lead engineers at Ford about the Mach-E and they said they were already actively reducing components in the heating/cooling systems for the 2022 model. Given that they are making more frequent updates between model years, it's possible that these changes are already in place.

I wonder if Ford will implement a heatpump for the 2023 model.

I don’t think that’s what she said. She spoke of the future, but didn’t mention a model year.

She said there will be year over year improvement. Planned changes aimed at saving weight include elimination one of the two motor coolant pumps and using lighter-weight material for certain hoses, as well as eliminating the parking pawl which will save weight and cost. Switching to 1 coolant reservoir instead of 2. No timeframe was stated that I know of.

Changing this would be a major overhaul.
