Anyone know, has Ford ever mentioned implementing some sort of optimized/adaptive charging for the MME? By that I mean, using the departure times to keep the battery at 80% until shortly before the scheduled time and then charging it up to the desired level.

For a while now Apple and Google have been doing that with their devices and it helps improve battery health. That way the battery doesn’t sit at its max charge level all night.

I could see this as a way to allow people to charge to 100% each night, because it wouldn’t be sitting at 100% for long. Presumably right after your departure time you would be driving and depleting the battery down to a safer level.

There was an early access feature that was called intelligent charging. At first It sounded like it could do stuff like this, but in testing, it was just to help setup charging to best maximize charging based on cheaper time of day use rates.

It did seem like that feature could have evolved into something like what you're wanting though, and does make sense. when I go on a trip I always plan to start the car charging from 90% to 100% but 3/4 of the time I forget and end up leaving with like 93% SoC.

You're making a mistake in equating the technical abilities of Apple, Google, and Ford.

Ya I feel like this would help people more comfortable by giving them 100% SOC most days.

I mean all these companies just copy each other. Google copied Apples system in this case. Why can Ford just copy paste as well. ?

Because it requires 2 steps. Copy, then paste. They'd due a copy, then 6 months !after paste it.
