So I bought the TWRAPS charger and the fact that it does eliminate the issue where the camera doesn’t elevate the phone on an angle it does not really charge that well for me and it still does get warm so I think I’m going back old school with a cord and the USB port and not use the onboard wireless as well because you need actually a flat camera instead of one of those that are raised on the new phones. So what I’ve done is I put a few pictures in here. I removed the wireless charger that was in the car. It does not give off any codes that it’s unplugged, also I noticed it has holes underneath so you can see the floor so what I’m gonna be doing is I’m gonna route the cord underneath there from the USB port And then put it through one of the other holes and just run it through the back of this charging mat and so you’ll see like maybe a quarter inch of cord I’m gonna get a black one here pretty quick in the mail, but in the meantime, this is kind of a workaround, I actually had to use a longer cable because that actually was the wrong cable. I didn’t realize it, but I didn’t have to run anything underneath through those holes. I just pretty much put it underneath where the charger used to be and put the cover on top the rubber mat.

Did you just pop the wireless module out? I’ve tried but didn't seem to budge. I thought I read you had to disassemble center console to get it out.

No, you just get a little plastic pry tool, and wedge it underneath back here where your cupholder is and lift up and it’ll pop out. It’s got clips on like three or four places, but it just pops out if you put that plastic prybar underneath that clip by the cupholder, it pops right out the little battery Charger looks like a battery lol

I really wish some car maker would put a little fan or vent that blows cool air onto the phone while it's in the wireless charger.

I’m at the point where I might put mine back on the vent it really worked well and other than the wire running a little bit it actually keeps it real cool and it’s not in the way by the blinker or the windshield wiper control

Since you already removed the OEM charging model, your might want to see if you can get this to work (it is thin and it fits in the existing mat area nicely)

The only issue with wireless charging twraps had the design in the right direction, but it has no ability to keep up with the demand. It can’t even charge one percent in 15 minutes and it’s because these damn new cameras why they had to take the design and push the cam lens out extra quarter to 16 of an inch causing anything delayed flat impossible, if I remember correctly, I had the iPhone 8+ that was capable of wireless charging, and I wish they would go back to that design of the camera recessed

I took mine and put it in the center consul underneath the pad. There’s nothing I’m using the cable from the USB port but I’m thinking I’m just gonna put it up by the air conditioning vent. I’m gonna run a cable. I’ll just hide it.

I cut a small sheet of aluminum foil the shape of the charger and taped it on top of the charger and put the mat back down on top of it. That's all you need to stop wireless charging signal.

I actually really like the idea of having a wireless charger in the car but Ford's implementation of it is garbage. If only for the simple fact that there's no way for a device to stay put in that space. Yes, devices are different sizes and what not - but it can be done better so most devices sit in generally the same orientation and location. When the charging works and the phone doesn't move, it's fine. Once it moves, even a little bit, you end up with less power and more heat and then eventually nothing. All you need to do is accelerate or turn even moderately aggressively and it's out of alignment. Every. Time.

Some of the angled/slanted chargers seem like better concepts for staying in place - but really, until everything is Qi2/magsafe, there won't be a great solution.

This little charger right here plugged in at home in the wall. This thing will take it from 50% to 100 and like 20 minutes. Take it out put it in the USB port in the car. It just sits at the same percent the whole time you’re driving, so gotta figure out a way to make as much power coming out of the socket on the wall, but I guess you need some type of inverter from the cigarette lighter port because it didn’t make any difference. Plugging in adapter and plugging the USB into that either.
You can barely pull that off the back of the phone and it sits perfectly in the little tray

I’m glad I don’t have any issues with my iPhone 25 pro max and inductive charging. There’s no way I’d go to all that trouble.

I’m basically putting up with this iPhone 14 Pro Max I’m gonna be going to the 16 in September so I’m hoping a lot of stuff will be resolved. I used to be an android and I just found the iPhone was more friendlier to use for me. I have nothing against the android other than I can’t send you a video if you have one that’s still an issue which is ridiculous.

I got one of these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D45K73CV
It's not ideal, but I put it on top of the phone. I don't really use the phone screen while driving anyway, but it feels like a kludge.
