I received update 2.8.3 a few days ago OTA, but I have not yet received the recall.

My MME (Select AWD ‘21) is in the shop today for it’s 10,000 mile service and I asked the dealer to do the recall at the same time.

I just got a call from the dealer saying that they have 30 updates to install (including BlueCruise) and it will take 3 days. I mentioned that I have received OTA updates recently and that BlueCruise has worked from day one, but the person calling was not technical and could not help.

Are dealer and OTA updates that far out of sync or am I going to regret this in a few days? (I have had 0 issues thus far with the car).

So here is my update after all the updates ?

Things went smoothly and I got the car back in 2 days (2 working days excluding the weekend in between).

I only notice one difference after all those updates.....

My GOM was horribly wrong, constantly guessing I would do 2.7 miles per kWh when in reality I do closer to 3.5 (as measured by Trip 2 over 8K miles).

My GOM is now showing a much better estimate of 3.1 miles per kWh (same as EPA rating), which is still a bit off, but is way better and this is the first time my car has shown over 200 miles of range on the GOM ? (they also charged my car to 97% which is something I very seldom do).

At the end of the day my use case is not long trips (2 car family), but its nice to have it a bit more accurate.

I hope it stays that way

The updates likely reset the car, which reset the GOM. It will settle into the "real" range after a while, which will of course be wrecked when the weather changes...

Why did you need a 10,000 servicing?

This could be true. I have reset the EV stats a few times before and it has never shown full range.

I’ll do a week of commuting and get back after that.

Real-world range is partially a function of driving style and speed.

I don't rely on the GOM. Multiply mi/kWH * 68 for a sense of your true range.

It’s the scheduled maintenance. The main thing they do is rotate the tires and then there is a list of things they check.

(And of course this time the recall and updates)

Total cost was $87.

Yeah, my Select AWD has an EPA range of 211 miles. My rule of thumb was to just double the remaining percentage which gave me a decent number with a bit of a buffer.

So for example 60% charge = 120 miles.

You got ripped off. Most dealers are charging between $25 and $35 from what I have seen.

Yeah, my Select AWD has an EPA range of 211 miles.
Actually its 217 mi. now, because your car went from 68 kWh of useable battery to 70 with the updates.

Good to check fluids etc.
My MECS reservoir was pretty low after 45k miles. The dealer pressure checked it and found no leaks so we are just keeping an eye on it for now.

As to the subject of this thread...
I received the HVBJB recall last week. Said it was successful. Car went in today for the front camera fault issue. In the process they reinstalled the recall software again. However, this time the charge locations did not reset. Either the erasing of those settings is an OTA thing or they fixed it recently. ???
