Bad news: Because PAAK is unreliable, and Ford only gives one fob we cannot put the fob on our key rings since whoever needs the car takes the fob.

Good news: I am happy to report that the fob can survive a trip though the washing machine.

Find a generic keyfob that might work. There are a few (as in several hundred) threads here about a second FOB and where to obtain one for less than a mortgage payment.

Why would you carry a fob for a car you're not driving? ??

I think he's saying you can't put it on your own keyring if multiple people drive the car -- if you take your keys with you but aren't driving the MME, and PaaK doesn't work (it doesn't for me), the no one can drive the MME when you're not at home.

I don’t miss having to dig the Fob out of my Wife’s purse! Keep after your dealer, they will get tired of hearing about it and cough up a Fob for you! Worked for me! Lol

Ive noticed that some people like to have one key ring with all their keys… never made sense to me. I have a separate key ring for every car. so one key isn’t a big deal but I do like having spares available. It’s not unheard of for fobs to stop working.

I would prefer to have a spare too, but it's not nearly the pain point for me as it seems to be for many others.
Just trying to envision a guy walking around with 3 or 4 fobs in his pocket. Or do you think they go with the retractable keychain on their belt?? ??

Don't really understand the problem. Back when we had only one fob (now have two and Ford has no excuse for only providing one) we hung the fob on a key holder beside the door to the garage and whoever was going to drive the car would pick it up and replace it when they came back - not especially a hardship on anybody. Most of time this worked.

Me too! We have a key holder in our utility room and I just grab the fob for whatever vehicle I will be driving on my way out the door! :)
