I've been wrestling with getting PAAK working since I got my vehicle. Sometimes it's connected, most times it isn't. Seems like after yesterday's 21B36 update is has consistently decided to no longer work at all. I always carry my FOB, and since PAAK is so unreliable, I've gotten used to just popping the frunk and trunk from the vehicle/FOB. Is there even any reason to keep fighting with it under those conditions? Is there any other use for PAAK other than not having to have your FOB with you?

No, to both questions.
Just use your FOB. It works every time all of the time.
Myriad of problems w/ PAAK, well documented in this forum.
I use my mobile phone as a phone because I can never find the damn phone booths any more. As you can imagine, I use it very seldom. And I get along just fine, thank you very much. I advised my students, put your master away and take back your life.
Set my PAAK up at dealership. Its, and FordPass' , unreliability convinced me to shut it off. Stays off.
FOB is not cool, old technology, but it works.
Have no use for "tech." which one must fight to get it to work. Illogical. Spock agrees.
Use the stuff in your MME that works and you use.
Shut off the junk and have fun, driving in your car.

Come on man. How will we find things to complain about then? We’d have to look for real problems. That’s no fun.

Sounds like something’s wrong with your vehicle/phone m. Sorry it’s not working for you. Too many variables to get it fixed by a dealer too because they’ll probably never really be able to prove it’s the car unfortunately.

On the other hand mine works great and I haven’t carried a FOB since I bought it in Nov 2021. I’ve had a few quirks here or there but nothing like what happens to others. I don’t think you’re really missing anything though other than the ability to leave one less thing at home.

I’ve had very few issues with PAAK in the last 2+ years. This update, introduced a couple of issues with slow door opening that caused me to get the fob out. I simply haven’t put the fob away since.

I'm weird. After the most recent reapplication of the 21B36 update my PAAK works first push. It used to take 2 after sitting overnight. Now it takes one. It does have a half second delay, but only one push. I always have a phone with me so it is worth it to carry no keys. I have therefore been fighting with PAAK for the entire 2 years of ownership. Here's hoping this is "the new normal".

I always have my FOB but hooked up PAAK because it was a thing to do, and a way to open the frunk without opening the vehicle. I deleted the key from the app this morning, might try and hook it back up to see if maybe it connects properly this time.

You need to have PaaK setup in order to set a backup start code. You also need it setup to get all of the control buttons in FordPass. So there are reasons to keep PaaK configured, even if you don't use it.

Sigh, you're just making me feel bad with the frunk comment. 2021 Job 1, no frunk button for me. But Jim Farley did say he hoped to get it out to 2021 job 1 cars in Q1 2023.

It's so weird there isn't one for the Job 1s yet

Since I got,the Lightning FOB with the Frunk button, I don’t care if PAAK works or not.

I remember seeing a thread about that. How's it working for you? Might have to get one.

Sadly my 2nd FOB is also a Mustang Mach e FOB.

I bought it from a 3rd party distributor of OEM fobs. Programmed easily and stored my second Mach-e for forever. The Frunk button works great.
