Paak on approach

My Paak works every time when I leave the car with fob or phone but when I approach the car nothing ever happens. when I grab the door handle the car does unlock or maybe already unlocked while I was approaching but no lights come on and the mirrors do not fold out with the pony projection. Am I missing something as I do not think it suppose to work this way.

Yes, you’re missing the search function lol. The welcome lights are very spotty.
Honestly, using Bluetooth LE for proximity measuring is pretty inaccurate by nature. Only way to make it more reliable is for ford to increase the distance tolerance but that opens up the problem of unlocking when you don’t want it to.
I've never used the fob so I can’t say if it has the same problem but it should be much more reliable than Paak.

don't use both fob & phone.... wrap the fob in foil and hide it inside the car after you learn the door pillar code to unlock of course.

check your settings for 'welcome lights' = on

make sure bluetooth on phone is active when you approach

and for best chance of PAAK to start car, put your phone under the center screen in the tray before hitting the start button.

The mirrors are not supposed to fold out with the pony projection, but the pony projection and lights definitely should come on automatically when you approach.

The mirrors only fold out when you actually press the button on the door and unlock the car.

I noticed that since I got the latest Power UP that my car always lights up when I approach via PAAK. I've been told by others that there was no PAAK changes in the last Power Up but my anecdotal evidence says otherwise. The change in PAAK behavior was immediately after the update and has been consistent ever since.
