Park Assist Remapping

That’s what it does in my 2024 MME. I didn’t realize that this was previously a park assist function. I thought it was dumb that they dedicated a full physical button to opening parking lot options in the Ford Nav.

Honestly it is very frustrating. If they went to the trouble to re-map the button in software to do something else, why not make it actually helpful or configurable. I would love it if the button simply activated the front cameras/360 view.

the auto cameras work pretty well but yeah an easy physical button to turn them on on-demand would be infinitely more useful than parking spots on the nav which usually tell me to go to a Wendy’s or something.

I did this back in '22 (park button activates cameras) before there was a soft button on the Sync display that would activate the camera. Not sure today with all of the software updates Ford has done if this mod would still work. All I did is run one wire from the IPMA in the rear of the car to the park switch and change one line in FORScan.

Has anyone gone down the useless park assist button In a while? Wondering if anyone has done any forscan mods to remap that button do something remotely useful

It would be ideal for Ford to make this a shortcut to bring up the cameras - for....parking.

I followed @markboris instructions and have been using the button to activate the cameras for the past two years every day when I park. Works great despite the software updates and I find it easier to activate then reaching over to the screen.
