I found this part lying in the back of the car - just on the left inside of the trunk on new GTPE. Anyone have any idea what this might be and where it goes? I can not find a place for it. Thanks for any help. Wade

It looks like the trim cover for the back of the hatch handhold, on the top left edge of the hatch when it's open. It snaps back in place.

Thanks for this. But I could not find the spot you were referring to. Went to the dealer and had a salesman pop the trunk on a new Mach e - again could not find the spot. The piece has a part number, so I went to the parts department. They identified it as a cover over where the bottom of the driver's side back seat joins to the side of the car. Snapped it into place and found a similar one on the passenger's side. Again thanks for your efforts

Oh crap... you're right. So sorry.

I had a Ford Fusion before. That's what that part looked like for the Fusion's trunk handle...

I also had removed my rear seats in the Mach E, but only once because it's a major PITA... now I do recognize that part as the cover for the rear seat back hinge pin. Grrr... my bad all around.
