PCM Module Error U0284

Good morning everyone,


after updating all the modules of the car this error in the PCM module has not gone away in any way. In fact I noticed that when testing the module, when the radiator fan is activated the front grilles on the lower bumper do not open.


Thinking that they were manually blocked, they open and close with a little force, but electrically they always remain in the position in which they are.


What could it be in your opinion.

That code means there is no communication with the grille shutter actuator. Check for front impact damage. You could have a bad actuator or damaged wire between the PCM and the front grille.

Do you happen to know what would be the best way to access both the cable and the actuator? My doubt is whether to access it from the front hood by removing the tub or it is inevitably necessary to access it by removing the underbody cover or bumper.

You will probably need to remove the frunk tub and the front bumper cover to access everything.
