Pretty much the only things it doesn’t have are the 5 second limit, KtO lift gate, and Park Assist. Everything else has been added back in. 😁🐩
I know it’s the little things…. But I also just can’t get myself to like the new wheels as much as the old GTPE wheels. They also don’t have my dark matter grey color and the new audio settings make the center way too loud on the new ones. Plus isn’t the newer glass in the windows not as good?

I have been looking at the prices of the used 2024s though and doing some math. Would love the extra power for sure, just wish there weren’t other tradeoffs I’d have to convince myself were worth the swap.

I had my wheels and tires swapped for $90. Color is an issue since they removed some and added some others. Mark had that issue too. I was lucky enough that they didn’t discontinue my color until they introduced the micro-frunk downgrade. The center speaker doesn’t really bother me and it can be changed with a less sensitive one with better frequency response or simply disconnected. The front side windows on a Pano roof car are still the laminated ones. The metal roof cars got different glass in the front doors. 😁🐩

Obviously, it’s your choice on whether you will put up with the changes and how they affect your quality of life. I’m not finding that any of the changes that I haven’t already addressed with some mods are affecting me. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Those are the 2 things I'd miss the most especially the KTO, seem to use that all the time. Please tell me that the 24 doesn't have that old style column shifter, that started in 25?

The 2024 has the console-mounted rotary shifter. The column shifter is new for the 2025 model year. I suspect it's probably more functional than the rotary shifter, but I still don't think a car with bucket seats and a console should have a column shifter. 🤷‍♂️🐩

I know it shouldn't matter to an old fart, but it sure seems like they could have made some retroactive changes to get rid of the 5 second limit, I still feel short-changed.
The 2024 GT has temp sensors on the critical components that is used to regulate the acceleration instead of just going 5 seconds and then back off like the older models. So it is more than just software. The 2024 and newer still backs off but the amount and time is determined by temp read backs instead of just timing it. So I do not see the 5 seconds getting removed from the older Mach E's.

A few weeks ago someone had posted about performance upgrades for electric vehicles. I tried to find it, but didn't so I thought this little deal was interesting. I believe he was wondering if there were any aftermarket upgrades that could be done to increase performance on EV's like we were used to with ICE vehicles. A little while later I happened to see this article about electric turbochargers being more responsive and efficient than exhaust driven turbos. Sorry I didn't bother to look for the article, but I had saved the part that I found interesting. I suppose whoever wrote this article is much smarter than I am so I need someone to explain to me how a turbo is going to help out an electric motor. Another question, since I am considering running the wheels off my old 21 GTPE, best car ever for me at least, is there a chance that by the time my battery, which seems to be horse and buggy tech now, wears out will there be newer tech replacement batteries available for 10 - 15 year old EV's that will fit a specific model? About every day you can read about some new battery, solid-state, aluminum air, and on and on. Some even on the road now and each making my battery seem like it came over on the Mayflower. It seems to me if any of this tech sees daylight, ICE vehicles are going to struggle. Just curious, be gentle.
I saw a YouTube poster who has a Tesla Model S. On his post he was replacing the battery of his Model S with a new and apparently more powerful battery. I watched the post because it is apparently not to hard to change the battery on a Tesla, especially if you have a lift. Then Tesla also has some software buried deep in its programming for upgrading the battery. Now I have to admit that Tesla is years ahead of Ford on the software, but I can't imagine that when a more efficient and powerful battery comes out for Mustangs that somebody out there will figure it out.

To quote the VP of Ford when asked about the limits on the 21-23 GTs- “We will change that limit.”

To quote him in the last 18 months on the same subject- “……………….🦗🦗🦗

They absolutely could do an OTA update and make the limit less restrictive on the old GTs. They were even doing months of testing and apparently planned to do so. Then BC 1.3 got super delayed and they just updated things for 2024 models and seemed to have moved on.

Never heard of any additional temp sensors on newer models. I don’t think they’re even needed. Never once heard of a temperature and horsepower based failure for a GT.

HVBJB failures due to arching from a bad design, sure. But not a horsepower/heat failure.
