Yep! Summer tires don't spin, especially the Pirelli's and probably why Ford offers them as an option if one wants maximum performance from their GT. I'm one of those and only run summer tires during the warm seasons (I also have the PU on my Mach-E).
LOL 275 All-Season UHPs don't spin either. The wonders of having more rubber on the ground. 😁🐩

The Performance Upgrade did not eliminate the 5 second limit. Just being a GT of 2024 or newer vintage does. 😁🐩
I guess I never realized that! I did not pay attention to the change and thought the upgrade wast the boost and elimination of the 5 seconds. I will have to consider that next year - if they ever start shipping EV’s to Alaska again!

Well, yes, more rubber will fix the spin issue too. Now, more rubber PLUS summer tires...... 😊

Just for the fun of it... then and now. I guess back in 2022 the Performance Edition was mostly cosmetic and wheels. And what a difference 3 years make in price, i think these two cars are essentially equivalent.

I wouldn't say that the PE option was mostly cosmetic. Ford Performance seats, Magneride, and bigger brakes are not cosmetic and are all performance upgrades. It's just that the 2024+ GT now has those things as standard equipment. It could be said that the 2024+ GT is now the same as the older GT-PE, just without the torque output (which can be increased via the $995 Performance Upgrade, the PU or stinky option) or the glass roof. 😁🐩

The only real difference in purchasing the PU after the car was shipped to the dealer vs. the car being shipped with it is that you can finance the $995 if it's on the car's window sticker. A few people have posted their experience with the PU via OTA on their 2024s and these were all positive that I recall. 😁🐩
And of course if it's on the sticker then, like any other options at time of purchase, it will affect your annual registration fee. FOREVER!!!

So we always ask if an option can be added aftermarket...
