I guess it depends on how the permit was filled out and by who. Inspector or the city cannot be held liable for anything related to the work done.
Sounds right. My electrician did all the paperwork. I was required to be here for the inspector, and he gave me the carbon copy (yes, carbon copy) of the approved inspection notice.

yeah, I’m just annoyed because they charged me $200 for someone to come say “yep that looks like an outlet”.

If it was a more reasonable price I would have no problem getting permits. It literally took me 5min online to request it. Why can’t you charge me like $30 and I send you a few pictures. That’s more of an inspection then I got for $200 lol.

Agree. The electrician wanted to put a load shedding device on, it was like $700+. No one else (5 estimates) had that. I called inspector, he said "what? never heard of that, no you don't need it". Electrician called inspector, and then said "ok, if he says so".
