Yep, we get this too. Happens most often just after starting the car. Oddly enough, the rear wiper also sometimes does a single wipe and that's not even an automatic wiper

Seems to have started somewhat recently (last couple of months). One of the experience enhancements no doubt.
There is setting for if you put it in reverse it wipes the rear if the wipers are on, so if you got in the car put in reverse and the front wiped, the rear would also.

I just leave mine off, i would get the random wipe when starting the car if left on now and then.

The courtesy wipe is only if you use the washer fluid. It does one last swipe if you have that on.

This happens to both my wife's Premium and my GTPE. I suspect that it may be a bug that hits the windshield right where the sensor or the other time I have noticed it is when the sun is shining from a low angle and off to either the right or left side of the car.

Every so often, weather's perfect out, and my automatic wipers just wipe. No reason, no logic to it, it's happened at night it's happened in the day, although I think it's more frequent in the day. It's not an everyday thing, it's more like a once in a few days or so. I can turn the automatic wipers off, but I wondered if others are having the same phantom wipe?
It's basically your Mach E saying "hello".

I’m a cynical skeptical curmudgeon. Up until 2020, Fseries trucks would wipe before any water was sprayed when you tried to clean the windshield. I always suspected Ford had an ownership in the wiper blade companies. Our Lightning and Mach-e GTPE both do ghost wipes on the windshield. The Mach—e recently started the ghost wipe in reverse. I guess Ford is still making wiper blade profits off of software updates.
