Phone Calls Never Connect First Time since last Update !

I Love My 2022 Mach E Premium BUT recently I have to make every single call twice!! The first call always has heavy static or no sound at all. I have to hang up and then dial again and it always goes thru normally the second try. This Started immediately after the most recent OTA and remains a problem. Also happens when receiving a call. When I answer it’s static, dead air, or sounds like a robot. Hang up and call them back , it’s good. This is a maddening issue and I keep hoping Ford will make this issue go away.

There are a few other threads about this, lots of us having similar issues with the phone. A Ford rep answered one of my previous posts and requested my VIN and other info but they didn’t seem to find anything.

My latest experiment is to enable Wi-Fi calling before I get into the car. I haven’t made/received enough calls yet to establish if this helps and not sure why it would but it’s something I thought of trying.

Is this and Android or iPhone phone ? And I am also curious what model phone. When it's plugged in or Bluetooth is there any difference. And lastly are you using car play or Android auto ?

iPhone 13 and it happens both when using apple play plugged directly in or using sync wirelessly or plugged in. Suggestions ??

Been having the same issue with both our Mach-e and Lightning for months. Using a Pixel 7 Pro and a Pixel 5. Haven't found any good fixes yet.

I'm still having an issue when I get a text message. Car dings, says I have a message, I ask it to read the text message, screen goes to phone, says Here's your text message, then nothing. So I ask it a second time and it works fine, and works from then on, until I turn the car off and it starts all over again.

After the first txt message I have to ask again, it will respond after every txt message.


it's always the first message that goes to bit heaven.


Wonder if it's a symptom of this bug with the phone calls?
