I haven't seen this observation posted anywhere here previously so excuse me if my searching and memory failed me.
Today I went to a DCFC and put 40kW into the vehicle. I noticed when leaving the DCFC that I was max throttled on power for 7 minutes.
I'm not sure if this was observed with any non-GT vehicles because they don't have a power meter. I would assume that regardless of the trim this would apply, however it's unknowing to those without a power meter.
Here's the conditions:
55 deg outside temp
Post DCFC driving speed averaged about 35 for 7 minutes (in town)
At 7 minutes all power availability was restored at once.
I'm not a batteryologist, but I would assume this has something to do with thermal mgmt. What it really got me wondering was if this was on a day where it's 115 deg outside, how long would it have taken to restore at that temp.
Either way, not a huge deal, but just know when you leave DCFC don't try to drag race that car next to you for 7 minutes or you'll look like a fool.
