When you turn Auto Updates off, Sync will display a notification when you turn the car on that an update is awaiting your approval via the Update Now button.

That way I know my VIN has come up in the OTA lottery and I can make sure all of the OTA pre-reqs. are good to go. I can not take credit for this trick, I got it from @Logal727.

However, that's not so different than leaving auto update on and getting a notification through FordPass that you received an update...is it? 6 of 1...

It's not even necessary. Even with auto-updates on, Sync will prompt to update now (for an inhibit update) or prompt to let you know that an update failed, at which point you can take action to remedy the update failure (which seems to typically be a low 12V battery.)

This was what I thought? Which is why I am confused about this.

I apparently received 6.2.1 as a shadow update. No notification upon entering the car, no message in my app, nothing. I looked at updates and there it was as “completed”. Watching for more….

My '23 is up to 6.7.0. My '21 made it to 6.6.0 ... still waiting on 6.7 (and it's a Job-1 car so I'm very interested to see if 6.7.0 does actually enable the Frunk for Job-1 owners.).

From 1.0 to 1.3, but it won't happen until Dec 2024 because it is Ford.

It does. You should get all but the button on the Sync screen. That requires the next Sync update.

You probably got the no name power up as we never got notified it installed but we are also still at 6.1 but with 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE. I noticed it no longer said the power up version and when schooling to the bottom it shows VCE.

We're expecting FordPass and Keypad functionality even without a BCM update? Presumably we should also be able to run the routine to enable the button in sync if feeling impatient.
