We have had over 6 POWRETRAIN MALFUNCTIONS which is tied to charging issues (unable to charge, charging port is red) and the vehicle has been at the dealership for nearly 30 days in total to no avail with the issue(s). We have tried numerous chargers and it is not linked to any specific level 1 and level 2 chargers.
What we have noticed is that this malfunction when occurring happens ~ 3:30 pm when leaving from work. Has anyone encountered a specific malfunction occurring at approximately the same time? Note: the car is throwing the malfunction code on the way home from work, only when leaving and the car is not on charger during the day. We are approaching the requirements for Oregon Lemon Law given the attempt to fix has not been rectified in 3 visits/repairs to the dealer in addition to the days which the vehicle has been at the dealership.

To be more specific.
Charger port was replaced last October....After that while trying to leave work, the car asks if the charger is attached. And it is not because I am work...Unable to put in gear usually after turning car on and off several times (10 min wait). Usually the alert and the wrench go away by the time I get home. But today, the error is still there and it won't accept a level 1 or level 2 charger.

Recommend to find a different dealer to help you resolve this issue.
Post in the regional forum for your area and ask if anyone recommends a Ford dealer that has done great work on EV repairs.

This is likely your best bet. My lemon/buyback is in process right now. 45 days and counting at the dealership service dept. Get a case started with the Ford Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) customer service team if you haven't already, (800) 392-3673.

My car won't charge at all, it is not time dependent like you describe yours. The shop says the charging port needs to be replaced, but it is backordered and not available.

Good luck!

I have a 12V battery drain that they can't identify. 25 days in the shop now and they essentially said they have no idea what it is or when they'll diagnose it.

I'm also in Oregon, so at 30 days I'll probably call Ford and see if they'll start the buyback process. Assuming they will since that's a Lemon Law initiator here but TBD.

I would recommend calling now, before day 30, to get the case started. Going through this process is painfully slow.

I started my BEV team case on the day my car stopped charging since I was traveling away from home. They tried to help troubleshoot and directed me to the closest dealer service center when we couldn't get it working. Get it on their radar as soon as you can. BEV hands it off to a buyback team when that time comes, and buyback works on their own schedule.

EDIT: They are all M-F 9-5 EST schedule. Us on the West coast need to work around that.

I have posted earlier that my power train failed and coincidentally it was about 3:30 in the afternoon. However I am sure it is a mechanical failure. I have made several calls to the Dealership and get no response. My patience is getting short. I called again today and said if I did not have an answer by days end with some idea of them even looking at it, I will contact Ford. Anyone know what the Lemon law in Florida is like. A little early for that but just thinking outlaid.

Your experience is similar to mine and unfortunately shaping my opinion on keeping the car.

Love the car, dubious about the frequency of issues… but most of all dubious about the ability of Ford to fix it.

This is what the BEV team is for. They coordinate with the dealer service center and try to facilitate repairs. Call early.

Hi there! This powertrain concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Can you send us a PM with your VIN & dealer name/location? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I’ll see how I can assist on my end.

I don’t want to hijack the thread from OP but my issue is likely 12V related, not powertrain.
I believe OP has the powertrain issues.

My thoughts exactly. Finally spoke with the dealer today. They have not looked at the car because all of the lifts are busy. Hope to have one free after they reinstall batteries on other waiting EV cars.

My 2021 Premium Mach E went totally dead in June 2023. The car turned on, but would not go into any gear. The Start button kept flashing, but wouldn't turn solid green. Tried everything I could find searching the internet & this forum. From my understanding, It wasn't a bad trickle battery or the car wouldn't start, Had to be towed, the 1st guy came and said he couldn't tow an electric car, the 2nd truck came, 2 guys were googling how to tow a Mach E - they hooked up a charger to a connection in the fronk, then the car went totally dead! They left.... The 3rd guy knew what he was doing and was great (Fat Boy Towing Denver CO). Then my Mach E was at the Ford dealer for 4 weeks. There was 36.5 hours of labor, plus a few parts. When I asked them to explain what happened, the basic answer was "Programming". The Real answer is Ford mechanics don't know what the F they are doing on the Mach E.

I damaged my wheel and had to get a new one ($890.93!) and told them to put the damaged one in my car. They didn't, they sent it back to the factory. I have been battling with them for over 2 months now. Their 'Final Offer' is to give me a Explorer wheel, they can't get my wheel back and won't purchase a new one.

The Pre Collision Assist doesn't work anymore and sometimes it beeps and flashes red when nothing is there...... God knows how long it will have to be in the shop for that!

Once in awhile the Fast Charger gets stuck in my car at the charging station. It releases after you lock/unlock and turn car on and off.... but pretty frustrating!

My home charger hasn't been working over the last month plus. It says it charging and everything is Blue, but I get 1 or 0 miles.....

The Fast Charging Stations prices are equivalent to $6 a gallon of gas!

To Top it off, someone backed into the front of my Mach E..... hit n run
Sensors were not damaged, just a tiny dent in the lower part of the bumper and broke half of the plastic grill..... $3000.... I have a $500 deductable.

I LOVE driving my Mach E and the space it has, but no longer feel safe in it and Ford certainly makes Everything worse. I can't wait to sell it. Going Hybrid, don't trust fully electric anymore.

Any suggestions on a plug-in Hybrid? Need storage space in the back.

Thanks,
SheRa

Hey Mach E community! Has anyone had some of these big failures?

The "Pre-Collision Assist" doesn't work at all anymore and there is a 2 Month waiting list to get into Service to reprogram this plus a few other Issues..... How is one supposed to rely on this type of service, or lack there of.....
