Hello all. My first real DCFC trip yesterday with my 2022 ER AWD. Ford Nav is not active I was using ABRP (premium), and, about 2 miles from my first Tesla supercharger destination, the interior heat went to "HI". Outside temp was 53F.

At the charger, beginning at 18% SOC, the car was accepting 150Kw.

Was this Pre-Conditioning? Android Auto was running, also.

Thanks.

Preconditioning can speed up DCFC charging in cold weather. You don't need to consider it in temperatures above 30 degrees F. As an aside, if you have Android Auto, consider mapping your route with Google Maps through that connection. It's very similar to ABRP in route planning.

30F? Not quite. A 30F battery will fast charge slower. I'm sure in some thread the temp where it doesn't warm has been listed. I bet it is over 50F.

Ghost 👻 in the machine ⚙.
Agree:
Fast charge preconditioning doesn’t change your interior temperature.

ABRP doesn’t trigger fast charge preconditioning, only Google Maps.

No. Google Maps will only trigger preconditioning as needed with Android Auto.

Apple Maps in CarPlay can now trigger preconditioning as needed but only for 2026 models. An update is rolling out to older models to enable this function but it seems only some 2021 and 2022 models have gotten it so far. If you have a new phone list button on the top bar of the center display then you have the update.

Perhaps someone brushed the max defrost button 🤷🏻‍♂️
Or you did what I do about few times a week, which is to change the temperature setting and then go to adjust the volume while the "volume" dial is still in "temperature" mode from when you pressed the temp +/- button.
