Has anyone noticed that you can't disable departure times anymore unless you clear the schedule out?

For me at least, I can turn it off and then tomorrow it's back on and preconditioning. The only way I can get it to stay off is to remove the schedule.
There have been a few posts regarding people having that same issue.

I like longer battery life, so I will plug in when temps go below 40F.

Battery preconditioning helps ensure that voltage remains within optimal levels during cold weather, providing drivers with better performance and longer battery life.

Is preconditioning the same thing as starting the car? I have my departure time set so the car warms up in the morning before I leave home but for times like tonight when it was 43* when I left my kids’ football game, I remotely started the car to warm it up. It wasn’t plugged in, but it was worth it to be warmer for the drive home.
So I’m just wondering if starting the car warms up the battery as well or just the cabin?

Just the cabin.

No, remote start only heats the cabin, not the battery. You must be plugged in to precondition the battery. I’ve covered all the ways to precondition the battery previously:

I just checked and mine has stayed off for a few days, though it had mysteriously turned back on awhile back...

Car plugged in. You set a departure time on the screen. The car automatically preconditions prior to departure. You have the option to also precondition the cabin. That is basically it. If you are in a warm climate there is little benefit. I keep mine in a heated garage and never have used it. I also just auto start my car to precondition the cabin.
Ahhh I thought departure time was done in the app, just like charging? I have mine set from 11pm to 9 am M-F and anytime on weekends.

It can be done on either the app or the screen. Used to be that some of us (myself included) had a bug where departure times set on the app didn’t actually work, so in-car was the safer option.

It can be set in the app but there are many forum members who have had issues. Best way to set is in the car itself.

Im a bit confused on the temp setting for preconditioning. Today I set it up for "medium". It was about 48F outside and around 60F in my garage. I get in and the interior was quite warm. The seat and wheel heaters were also on. If I set it to "cool" for next time will it still warm the interior but just not as much as "medium" or is it going to run the AC if the outside temps were the same as before?

Try it and see. Cold is meant to "pre chill" the cabin so you don't have to use any A/C, and warm overheats the cabin so you don't need to use heat.

I only use Medium. It's a little warm, but that goes away soon after you start driving.
