Curious what you guys and gals are getting for real world 0-60 times in your Premium AWD ERs. I'm finding it difficult to break into the 4s with my '23 Premium AWD ER. My best time out of 4 consecutive runs today was almost 5 and a half seconds. I realize that there are a lot of variables involved in acceleration tests. Below are the conditions, equipment and settings used.

-Only me in the car (210 lbs)
-Only bolt-ons are mud flaps and wheel spacers
->80 HVB SoC
-70 degree, dry day
-GT PE 20"wheels
-New Continental Extreme Contact tires
-Unbridled Mode w/ 1 PD on
-HVAC off
-Windows up
-Flat(ish) paved road
-OBDLink MX+ with Car Scanner app to record times

My guess is that the heavier than Premium stock wheels in combination with the weight of the wheel spacers and the drag from the flaps are bringing my times down. What do y'all think?

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they tested 0-60 times with a rolling start. Good to know!

If you're expecting under 5 seconds, I wouldn't bother with Unbridled.

5.1s for the 4X is what a lot of reviewers and publications were getting back in 2021. The ‘24 4X should be interesting with the claimed 4.1s.

Not sure I understand. Doesn't Unbridled Mode change throttle response and free up more power?

I was expecting low 5 / high 4 seconds based on Ford's claim of 4.8 second 0-60 time. However, that was before I knew that number isn't from a dead stop.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the real world times with the new motor! Almost makes me wish I had waited a few more months for word on the '24 MY updates.

It limits max power available to make that power available for longer. It's more for track use to get some laps in without the extreme thermal throttling. It also turns off the traction and stability control stuff.

I can't read.

Ah, I thought it was only Unbridled Extended mode that limited max power.

When I have an opportunity, I'd like to do consecutive 0-60 runs in each drive mode and compare the data.

Ahh, sorry. You're right. I don't know why I've been reading this as you being in Extended. I'm in idiot mode tonight.

There won't be any noticeable difference in 0-60 or efficiency between any of the drive modes. Full throttle is full throttle regardless of drive mode, but 25% throttle input acceleration will be way different. 5.1 - 5.2 s from a stop is pretty common. The heavier wheel/tire combo will cost you a bit, both in accel and efficiency. 100% battery charge will give the fastest times, as the slightly higher pack voltage will produce more power. Swap back to the stock tires and charge to 100%, and I'd guess you'll be right in line.

One other thought is the DWS06+ theoretically could have a negative effect on your 0 to 60 times. The factory tires are much lower rolling resistance

Yeah it’s a 1 foot roll out before the timer starts.
This makes a difference of about .2 to .3 seconds.

Also make sure to test when it’s warm outside, the battery is warm (not hot) and near 100% charge for best results.

Doesn’t matter what mode you’re in, just slam the accelerator to the floor.
