Mods feel free to move if this belongs in the MME vs. Competition. So my wife who is not into cars turned to me the other day and said I like the MME and that we should buy one when the "bugs are off". She's been the ESG attorney on a bunch of SPACs recently and sees first hand in deals how good the infrastructure will eventually be for charging. She's had a Prius since 2013 that I absolutely detest. Hate is such a strong word so detest is how I feel. Steering is like a wet noodle, acceleration is abysmal, whhhheeen the car gets to 70 mph the noise from everything is terrible (wind, engine, glass creaks). For those of you who have traded in our trusty dependable Toyota, what are you thinking as you sit in your MME?

I'm laughing as I read this because I had an '06 Prius that I just gave away to a relative to make room for the Mach-E.

Prius: You put your foot into the accelerator... count to ten... and gradually notice the car starting to move forward.

Mach-E: You put your foot into the accelerator and the car launches you into next week ... and this isn't even the performance version of the car.

Making comparisons between these two cars isn't even fair. You are trying to comparing a rocket-ship to a row-boat.

I'm laughing at both descriptions of the Prius.

My vehicle immediately previous to the first gen Prius was a beater 4-cylinder truck that often ran on three. Acceleration didn't exist. Our first Prius (Gen 1) and our second Prius (Gen 2) were a dramatic improvement to the performance of the previous vehicles we'd owned (besides the Cougar with a 302 V-8 I'd had years before). I showed off their acceleration to anyone who would listen. About 80% of them were impressed because they also drove beaters.

It's all perspective.

Also: the difference between the Mustang Mach-E and the Prius is like the difference between a $0.25 mechanical pony ride at a convenience store and riding a real horse.

Half the Mach E owners used to drive a Prius.

The other half drove performance cars and would rather walk than drive a Prius.

And yet we are both happy with the Mach E.
Lmao this
