Production date a moving target?

Ordered Premium 8/23, standard range.

Received email from Ford that my 21 was moved to a 22.

Then received an email from Ford that production would begin 12/20.

Yesterday, received email from Ford that production would be week of January 3rd.

Maybe it's good that they are not working during the Christmas/New Year's holidays - lot's of assembly problems that time of year?

Production dates are definitely a moving target. Think of the logistics of thousands of orders and millions of parts that are constantly having supply chain issues. I think it would be a nightmare trying to plan ahead for which model/trim levels could be produced at any given time and they are trying to do that weeks/months ahead. I don't know how the factory works - is there a separate assembly line for each trim level or just one line and they build cars according to what parts they can get?

For context. My order was supposed to be scheduled for production week of 10/11. Got the info from dealer and verified online.

That date got moved to 10/18 via tracker.
I still have yet to get an email saying my car is scheduled for production and when I ask my dealership and Ford they state your car is in production.

So yeah it's a estimated date they're aiming for.

I never got an email saying when my production week would be. I had so continually load the trackers. Mine got postponed twice without any notification. There are others on the forum who were postponed 7 times. ??

Happy for you that you got bumped to a 2022. If you get your scheduled production date actually comes true that's a pretty good timeframe from the date your ordered it (especially for premium models). That will keep you on track for taking delivery within the 24 week window that Ford has advertised going back to May 2021.

Maybe spoke too soon.

As I previously reported, on 11/1 I was told production week would be 1/3.

***Well, three days later, on 11/4, I received an email stating production week would be 1/10.
SO - one week slip in just 3 days

Mine showed 1/3 yesterday, now week of 1/10... Only looked because I saw this. IMO, further away from a holiday break is not a bad thing.
