My wife and I share our new Mach-E ('23 Premium ER AWD), and I'd like to confirm our experiences with phones and seat memory are the expected behavior.
I set up my profile to be linked to a particular seat/mirror memory setting, my PaaK, and my fob. My wife created a separate profile that is likewise linked to her seat/mirror memory setting, her PaaK, and her fob. We also added our phones to SYNC for Android Auto (me) / Apple CarPlay (wife).
I would have expected that, when I get in the car after my wife last drove it, it should change to my profile, my seat/mirror settings, and start Android Auto. This isn't what happens. It does change to my profile. But it goes to her seat/mirror settings, so I have to press my number (physical button on the door) to get it to move to my seat/mirror position. Also, SYNC is still set to her phone, pulling up Apple CarPlay and notifying me that it cannot connect to the phone. I have to go into settings and tell it to switch to my phone. (It then takes about 15 seconds to switch over, but that may be because I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro, and there are separate threads about that).
These are minor inconveniences, but for a $60k car, I guess I was expecting better coordination. Is something wrong here, or is this as good as it gets for now?
