Prototype tool to help finding an EV

I’m currently working on a prototype for a tool to assist people with significant purchases. While working on the concept I experimented with integrating EVs in the tool and would be curious to get some constructive feedback. Performance is something to be improved for sure but would like to get a feel for things at this stage as to what should be improved.

Another important point is the idea of weighing for the requirements so you can express if AWD is more important than range in the results for example.

Here’s a link to something I call research shortcut that has a list of pre-established requirements for a purchase. The requirements can always be adjusted as needed if you need to adjust values (i.e. range) or if you have other requirements you want to add.

Long Winter Range Vehicles

The list of EV loaded is a subset only for the Canadian market but should give a good idea. All Mach-Es should be there though! ?

Long time to refresh when you make a change. Thought it did nothing but finally refreshed. Put budget at $250,000

Selected 260 is range in miles? Have no idea what specific value is? The requirement values are not many and not sure what they adjust at this stage.

A couple of quick notes that's related to your comment:
- I've now fixed an issue in the UI that prevented the units to be displayed
- The range figures at the moment are in km, so that would be 300km

Just to make sure I understand your feedback/comment, were the results you received unexpected/wrong?

Yeah the initial load time is a pain at the moment, so please bear with me as I'm trying to make improvements in that particular area.

I made improvements to the requirements value selection this morning that should make it less awkward to change the values. I'm still not set on the design in that area, one of those things that I'm still iterating on.

As I was mentioning in another reply, I've fixed the user interface to display correctly the units for the specs which would clarify that range metrics are in km not miles at the moment.

I made a few more UI polishing adjustments today and added up the Polestar 2 as well. I might start tackling the Taycan’s if that something of interest.

I’d be curious to get people’s thought on what other kind of requirements they use when they’re shopping for cars.
