I think it depends on the type of dessert you live in. Key Lime Pie, for example, if firm crust and thick filling would probably be okay, but I don't think the EV would do well in a blackberry cobbler, certainly not in a banana smoothie or a milkshake. All wheel drive models might be better for a fudge brownie - just my opinion.

Whoops, you said desert. My bad. Nevermind.

I didn't realize people think Audi drivers are jerks. ?‍♂
so i looked up the dealers there in salem Oregon and the power kia has 3 listed with only 1 on lot of ev6s. and the VW dealer has 6 listed and i called them and 2 are sold and and 3 are in transit so they have 1 on lot. where are you getting there is just all these evs sitting from? IM always looking at evs across the country and no one just has them sitting and not in any large numbers like you are saying. i agree the market is cooling but they aren't just sitting like people are stating. not sure where you are getting they have 20 or more ev6s and 37 id4s sitting because they have 1 ev6 and 1 id4. ive actually been looking for a ev6 gt not the gt-line and they are still pretty much imposable to get locally with only a few for sale nationwide. and i bought the last and only mache gt for about 200 miles where im at

Everyone’s a comedian. But in all seriousness.. is the “fudge brownie” warm? Because that makes a difference. Just want to know if I can drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream on such a dish. It makes a difference. Back to the topic at hand… would a level one charger still activate said fans? This would be temporary , of course.

I’ve never had the fans activate on L1, temps as high as 102F. I know you’ll see higher than that!

Have you tried the higher (40-48A) charge rates lately? There have been software updates to minimize fan noise when charging. I know mine has changed since 2021.
I have not, but thanks for the info. There have been some pretty good software updates.

From what I have researched, and my many years of experience with batteries in general, a slower charge rate seems to be a good idea if you have the time. I may turn my EVSE down to 25 amps or so, being that I have a 6 hour window of super low rates and only need to charge back 90 miles per day. I am leery of only charging every other day or every third day, as I have a failure to charge about once every 2 months for no reason I can determine. (And I know I am not alone in the mysterious, "Nope, I don't feel like charging tonight." issue.)

I use the small 2 or 3 amp Battery Tender brand chargers on my RV batteries, and on a vehicle I don't drive enough to keep the battery happy. I have found these keep the batteries fully charged without baking them, and I now have an RV deep cycle battery that has set a record for me at 7 years old and still going!

My FFE will charge to 100% every night it is plugged in (not max charge rate, old tech). Usually only running the fans from 80% up to 100. I was hoping the MME would only use the fans if it really needed or above 80%. So I capped it at 80%.

What I found out from Rick the other day though throws a wrench in that max charge %. I had hoped setting it to 80% would cap at 80% AND only charge during the scheduled times 11p to 5am or abouts. If it didn't hit 80% I'm fine with it, charge again tomorrow. BUT turns out the MME would attempt to charge to the 80% charge every time it's plugged in, and if it thinks it can't do that in X (read: the 6 hours I was hoping for from 11p to 5am) it'll start charging earlier on it's own. So it looks like summer this year will be it plugged in nightly to cap off at 80% rather than it kicking in charging at 8pm (peak time..) to try to hit that 80%. I have a 32 amp EVSE currently. Might actually have to get a smart one to tune out the peak time possibility.
