22 Select RWD, recently I found out everytime I charge the car at home, it adds ~3.0 mile/kwh , which means with 90% of capacity, i only have 200 miles range, but everytime, from trip meter, when I drove 200 miles, I always have 50-80 miles left in range and it shows I have 20+% battery left. the efficiency shown in "trip 1 or2 " (as I reset them after each charge) is 4.4 mile/kwh ( I am in Houston, with traffic , so my efficiency is good). but I do not know why the charge only "add" 3.x mile/kwh but i actually can drive much more range than that. I thought the computer will take average mile/kwh when add miles during changing. it has been like that for last 3 months and i have constant results. any thoughts. also I am closing to 60k miles, should I ask dealer to test the percentage of the battery capacity left ?

The miles added number is meaningless, it is just a guess and it is likely Ford is using the EPA rating to make the guess, not actual vehicle history. If you want to estimate battery capacity, take the kWh added and divide by the percentage added.

Yeah trying to use any of the car provided range estimates to infer anything about battery health is a waste of time. Too many variables to control and far to much estimation errors

Curious where you got the “it adds ~3mile/kwh” from?

The Ford app provides a “Miles added” number. It’s best ignored…..as proven by this thread.

I’ve never seen that number. I don’t look very closely. Only % is what I’m interested in.

GMC EV app reports similarly. (with the appropriate disclaimer at the bottom)
