Questions on Ford.com Order Status

Hey everyone! I have looked all over searching different search terms and can't find exactly what I am looking for. I am curious as to the "typical" progression of the Order Status on Ford.com. Is there a typical amount of time between stages? (Again I say typical as I know nothing is certain.) Which step tends to take the longest? What does "Place Order" even mean? (I configured my MME, ordered it, and it was accepted by the dealer, so why is "Place Order" still in progress?) The Ford Tracker isn't very helpful. They need to make it more like the Dominos Pizza Tracker! Again, if this was already discussed (and I can't imagine it hasn't been), can someone direct me to that post? Thanks!!!

That's normal behavior. I ordered on 4/27/21, when it was also accepted by dealer. It stayed at "Place Order in Progress' for 16 weeks, 2 days, when it finally changed to "Scheduled for Production.'

In my case, the initial production date was 10/4/21, but a week later, on the following Thursday, it slid a week to 10/11/21, where it currently remains.

Updates happen on Thursday mornings, so that's when yours will change.

As for timing, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, with many orders 'cutting the line.' It's likely based on a combination of factors: dealer allocation, your configuration (e.g. extended range takes longer), semiconductor delays, and vehicle price (many GTs jumped ahead of Premium and Select orders).

My initial order estimated 24+ weeks, but it's looking like it may end up being 30 weeks, when all is said and done. Your results may vary, though!
