Quick Poll on PAAK Setup

Just set up Phone as a Key, and one step that stood out to me was the need to copy and paste a PIN code to pair with my vehicle. Curious to see if anyone else may have had trouble with this. Here's the step I'm talking about.

Yes, setting it up and not knowing you only have 20 seconds was a bit difficult for us old farts. Especially when your wife is in your ear telling you how to do it when she had to have our son do hers. All I can say is mine still works great with iPhone X. She has gone back to carrying a fob with her iPhone 12.

I didn't have a problem after I figured out that on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (probably all the Folds), it won't set up if it is unfolded. Has to be folded. Once I figured that out, no problem.

Mine doesn't usually get as far as the passcode. Just an endless loop of confirming my identity and then it puts me back to the same screen and starts the same process again. On one try, I received the temporary passcode but wasn't able to enter it anywhere in time because my phone decided to go back into endless loop. Later I got an email saying my phone was set up but it really wasn't as the option to set it up was still there and it had not changed. Very frustrating

It was super easy to set up and I got it on the first try, but after two or three months it quit working and hasn't worked since. I know the fix is to completely remove PaaK and set up it again, but I just carry the fob now. Everything works except FordPass control of windows, frunk, and trunk.

Biggest problem I had was I needed to reduce text size and remove bold text so I could advance the steps.

Gave up completely after not being able to receive the code, it gets stuck on that screen. Me nor the wife were able to set it up completely. I can turn the car on and off from the app but still says I need to set phone as key. Maybe it’s bc we live in a bad reception area? I’m not sure why it’s this hard. We’ve reset the whole system and everything and still can’t get passed the code screen

I set up so many PaaK connections early in ownership between my phone and my car that my account got locked out for a week. The PIN entry was easy-least though. ??

What most people miss, I believe, is that you have to turn off CarPlay on the phone. The PAAK connection won’t sync with the car if CarPlay is connected. So connect phone to car. Allow carplay to set up. Then, on the phone, turn carplay off. Then set up PAAK and turn CarPlay back on once the setup is completed.
