Hi all,

Has anyone been able to either perform or find instructions on how to perform a radiator shutter assembly replacement? I saw threads on how to 3D print and replace individual shutters, but my whole lower assembly is cracked and I can't even find anything on how to take the front bumper off, which I assume is necessary to replace the shutter assembly. Any help is appreciated!

Just fyi, depending on extent of damage you may need sensor recalibration. I had damage that looked fairly minor, submitted an insurance claim and the dealer listed around $2k in damage. I was on the hook for the $500 deductible.

Yeah, between the cost of the replacement shutter assembly and labor, I'm sure $2k would be a low end estimate. Did you get any notifications about needing recalibration or was that something the shop told you was needed?

Everything seemed ok as far as I could tell but the quote did include some recalibration work.

See if there is an independent EV shop in your area. I had my MME shutter assembly replaced by my local EV shop (Mile Hybrid Auto in Denver) for only $926.04 - The shutters were $585.33, and labor was $280.00. Much cheaper (and quicker) than using a Ford Service Center.

Hey ! I just did the active air grille replacement a few weeks ago with a friend. For context: the grille was broken in center mass, bumper right above got split and the metalic bar thingy behind it also got a few centimeters torn. What I did: ordered a grille from a salvage shop ( not sure what's it called in english, the car shop were totalled cars get sold for pieces and components ), bought the other components that I could see were broken. The bar itself is the most annoying thing to get down, there are 2 screws on each side that are so so hard to unscrew due to the position they're in ( they're between the wheel and frunk, in a position that doesn't have easy access ), after you get the bar itself down you'll get to the 2nd most annoying thing, getting that grille out of the bumper was so hard, I ended up cutting the plastic clips that keep it in place with a metal cutting scissor ( if you do end up doing this, be very careful as not all the clips are for the air grille ). Mounting the new grille in is easy, just be careful to align both ends first, we didn't do this and had to take it out and put it back in so it would fit correctly.
Sensors didn't need alignment on my end, I was lucky I guess, didn't end up changing the metallic bar, had to take a lot more down to change it and I didn't have it in me anymore.
Overall it took us around 8 hours ( we're not that technical and had to do a lot of guessing ). Highly recommended to have a friend help you out, when you remove the bumper you will need to have someone hold it in air while you carefully uncouple all the sensors and wires ( there's a lot ).
This video was a life saver for me: ( hope linking is allowed, first post here ).
PS: when removing the bumper, be very careful when removing the front camera assembly, it's paired with the front camera washer, I broke the nozzle cap on mine. I wasn't and am not aware of how to remove that one. If you have the feature, I'd try the window washer and have someone take hold of the camera washer and remove the cap before dissasembly. Context: I 'think' that the nozzle cap is assembled from the outside, while the camera assembly dissasembles to the inside, the nozzle cannot pass through so it kinda' needs to break.
PS2: careful around the impact senzors once you take the bumper off, we were really scared to not hit them and have airbags take off.

Please let me know if I can help with additional info. The repair cost me around 320 USD ( air grille, front radar support, a plastic welding gun for the bumper ).

Wow, under $300 for labor, that's awesome! I'll look around my area, thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and the video, that's the first one I've seen of a Mach E front bumper removal and it's definitely helpful (and also makes it seem like not as simple as I was expecting!).
