Compared to other cars with rain-sensing wipers, the MME performs admirably well IMHO. The intervals are reasonably adapted in intermediate rain. Rain is very rare here in Norcal, but this spring was the exception and we had ample opportunity to check this feature out.

I have an appointment Thursday to have them look at this, as well as to review my cas for my charging fault. How does this look to you?

That's your problem, no glass contact. Sensor needs a new gel layer or replacement.

My rain sensor is fine, but I have issues like the rest of you in light rain with the wipers not wiping enough. I have to turn the sensitivity up to high (4/4) and that is sometimes not enough. When it is raining moderately or heavily 2/4 or 3/4 settings work fine. So not sure why the response to light rain is so abysmal.
I have the exact same issue as well. ITs very frustrating.

GM used to sell the gel pad separate from the sensor. No idea if they still do, or if Ford does.

Brand new '24 Mach e. I discovered the same issue, when in auto wipe mode at the highest sensitivity, the wipers rarely wipe. I can't see anything and just don't wipe. Unacceptable. I wonder if there is a sensitivity setting in the car's software that the dealers can further adjust, or recalibrate?

Good morning, Nick. If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and we’ll look into your wiper concern. Thanks!

Really silly suggestion here - have you tried turning on the wiper at the lowest sensitivity setting, then ramp it up? I believe the sensor sort of establishes a baseline of... wetness(?) when you first turn it on.

My suggestion was based on a similar issue 6 years ago with my brand new VW Atlas. Went to dealer, they recalibrated and adjusted sensitivity (with whatever device they use to connect to the vehicle's computer). I has worked flawlessly ever since.

P.S. Of course I have played with the sensitivity settings on the wiper stalk.

I meant specifically these steps in this order: Set wiper to off. Set sensitivity to lowest. Start wiper in intermittent mode. Then ramp up sensitivity as needed.
