Hi All

Just had my 2021 AWD extended range brick for the second time. This time it needs a rear motor electric pump. Apparently they are on back order. Wondering how long I’m going to be without my car for this time - last time it was a month. Any others had this problem?

Yes, I think. My AWD MME threw a fault, "Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" to my FordPass app. I took it to the Ford Dealership on October 10 and was told the rear differential had issues. Upon contacting Ford Corp. and being assigned a case # and contact person, I was told I needed an Oil Pump Assembly which was on backorder. They tagged it for "emergency" delivery. So far, no estimated time for delivery.

Interesting. We took ours in Oct 7, they also ‘emergency ordered an electric pump part’ whatever that means, sounds like a marketing term to keep the customer happy. Hope it won’t be months!!!! Is this the first issue with your car? Mine is the second bricking.

Well every MachE has the same rear motor. The pump moves the oil thru the heat exchanger and around the motor.

Dang, haven't seen this issue too much. How often does this happen? @Mach-Lee

I've seen it about 3-4 times. It seems to be more of a problem on some of the newer vehicles.

OP, if it's the rear oil pump the rear subframe and motor will have to be dropped to open the motor case and replace the part. That would take a day or two of labor once the part comes.

Thanks for that. I see Sandy Monroe talks about the tear down of the motor to access the oil pump at about 10:40 in this video

Just an update. Almost a month waiting and still no indication the Oil Pump Assembly is going to be delivered any time soon.

Update: Part(s) came in and within a day the car was available for pick-up. Put about 200 miles on the car and no issues so far. Here is the final work order.

Has anyone gone through this issue recently? I dropped off my Mach-e on the 14th and have yet to hear anything in regards to the part.
